Yes I am hard to please.

It's been a few weeks that I am checking out laptops. I've always heart the sexy design of Macbook Pro. But at the moment it's still slightly over my budget. I've yet to find any brand that comes close to Apple in terms of design and reputation about their quality - speed and sophistication of software, among others. I have been using this (my first) laptop for the past 5 years. I hope my next will last at least this long, too. So I am very particular about making this decision. Even if it doesn't last this long, it has to at least be pleasant looking with comfortable keyboard. Come next, is having Intel Core i5 Processor.

I don't want an iPad or anything similar because I prefer proper keyboard. I don't want a netbook either because I can't accept screen less than 13 inch.

I'm not sure how long more can my laptop last. So I'm starting my survey early in case I need a replacement. Any suggestion? :)

Cam Gigandet

Yes, I just watched Burlesque with Xu Vin last Friday. And even though Christina and Cher were the leading sexy actresses in the movie, I was starring at Cam Gigandet at all the scenes he appeared. Seriously, who has the kind of smile that beats his?

One Step Closer

I wish all Indians are as gentle as Thiru, as friendly as Prethivan, as sensible as Kevin (though he's only half an Indian) and as cool as Dev, as lovely as Sharon, as sweet as Gina, as charming as Joan, has Thilip's kind of humour and Jonathan's kind of craziness.

If not, then please give me world peace.

Of course, world peace starts from ourselves. Make peace with yourself, with God, with your neighbour. And with your enemy.

Coming to this new work place makes me learn more than I've expected. I've learnt and experienced the joy of listening more and speaking less. Sometimes I feel smarter this way. Maybe because I learn through listening and don't show my foolishness by talking too much. Next, which I am still struggling with, is the skill to focus and magnify on the goodness of others, not their imperfections.

Things become more bearable when you know Jesus is with you :) Staying faithful is very rewarding, I assure you/ myself.

And more :)

This video is fun to watch and to listen to! It makes me want to clap my hands and get to my feet to dance, too :D King of Anything (Sara Bareilles)

This is their latest original song - it's released as an album on iTune. It was written by Sam Tsui and produced by Kurt Schneider - Start Again. The lyric is at the description section under the video clip at Youtube. Enjoy!

Give Me A Break

Have I told you how I used to adjust myself in my previous company to speak Cantonese to my ex-colleagues? The transition from English to Cantonese language wasn't that hard, but weird nonetheless. Even after a year I still got some words pronounced in a weird tone.

I miss that bunch of fun colleagues and I miss speaking Cantonese to them. I miss them making fun of my Cantonese.

More Songs from Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider

OK, I take back my words. Sam Tsui actually sang Dynamite very well in this video clip :) Please tell me I'm not the only one smiling non-stop while watching this video. Look at how passionated he was when he's singing! Inspiring :) The mashup consists of Love The Way You Lie (Rihana), Dynamite (Taio Cruz) and (Teenage Dream, Katy Perry).

Oh, I also love another song from them: If I Die Young by The Band Perry.Tthe audiences  in the Youtube page were not helpful. They were fighting over the issue about him being gay or not or whatever. Nonetheless, listen to the lyrics! It's meaningful :)

And, oh!! I cannot miss out this one! I love it since the first time I listen to it (yes I do have superb internet connection at home in BM). I think this song IS their own song :) Don't Want An Ending.

Hold It Against Me (Britney Spears) by Kurt and Sam

I was watching this cover arranged by Kurt Schneider and sang by Sam Tsui on Youtube, and was truly impressed by their creativity and talent.

To be honest, not all of their covers are better than the original counterpart. Such as their Just The Way You Are (Bruno Mars) cover, I still like the original version better. And maybe their DJ Got Us Falling In Love (Usher) cover, too. In my opinion, Sam doesn't suit singing party songs. His voice are more suitable for acapella songs or the kind of songs such as the one I embedded here.

Well, rumours have it that it is Kurt who is doing all the arrangement and uploading job for their songs. Yet it is quite apparent that Sam gets more attention and praises then Kurt does. Sam does deserve his praises for his wonderful voice and talent in making full use of his vocal range. Not to ignore is his cute looks (Am I the only one to be reminded of our Darryl Tan by looking at Sam especially in this video clip?), too. But Kurt's presence is hard to be missed, too. In this video, he is the guy who plays the drum pad next to Sam. Look at the way his fingers dance on the pad! It adds the heartbeat to the song.

It's not a new trend that many dance musics which are composed of techno tunes are in the market. Many of them are received relatively well by audiences of this age. Britney's come back in heavily techno-rised song is not surprising, if you were to refer her second latest album.

Tune wise, Britney's Hold It Against Me isn't really that bad. But Kurt's arrangement and Sam's powerful singing give the song another character. The lyrics somehow become more touching and the tunes are given a proper life! I still think true voice beat techno musics all the time.

Lastly, if you were to listen closely, Kurt managed to insert a tiny fragment of Gimme More (listen to the singing) and also Stronger (listen to the piano some where following that) into this cover. See if you can recognise it :) Not just this, they also have other mesh-ups of two songs and the results turn out to be good as well.

I am the type of fans who do buy original albums if I really like a singer. This is not the first time I hear their songs in Youtube. And as I was enjoying this video clip, I kept wondering if they sell their songs in CDs form, also, so that I can just hunt all of them down in one trip to the music record store. I know they do sell their songs in iTunes. But well, I'd be over the moon to have all their songs compiled in CDs.
