Being joyful over Osama's death would make me a monster. But the scariest thing would be me being indifferent upon hearing the news. Because that is just so not the Cher Linn I use to know. I don't want to let anything dilute my thirst for news outside my comfort zone, and the analysis that come after that.
Thank God, I still ask: what's next? (in a manner that I do look forward for good answers)
Come to think of it, what makes his death less significance is the ideology of radical Salafism Osama propagated via al-Qaeda. Because the ideology lives on even after the propagator dies.
Some people live to make a difference. They left their legacy, in a good way or bad way. We all have a choice about what kind of legacy we want to leave.
What are you doing with your choice?

lots of ppl threw out this question after hearing the news on his death. his death, although it might seem as a little redundant to most of us as we nvr suffered from the qualms of terrorism, means a lot to many. on a huge scale, it is a hallmark for the US and Pakistan to say that their anti terrorism efforts did yield results. The US gov bringing justice and retribution to US citizens. The US gov changing certain war policies. on a more personal level, it is a little piece of retribution for those who's family members /loved ones were killed in the 911 tragedy or in afghanistan. for some more, phps some army troops being husbands/ brothers/ fathers serving out thr can come home to their loved ones. its not redundant. it means differently at different degress to different ppl.
for terrorist networks hwever, its probably going to spark even greater anger and action. the death of Osama certainly wont weaken or stop them. maybe a power vaccumm. bt as many analysts have pointed out, he is more of a symbol to radicals than their leader. this symbol lives on, alive or dead. symbols are powerful. like u mentioned, powerful figures bring impact to the world, whether good or bad. in this case, we know which end it is on.
therefore, i can only conclude that we need more and more of God's grace to keep peace flowing in ppl in the midst of everything we see on tv today.
